ANOTHER Biography of  Brahm Gyani Saint Baba Nand Singh Ji Maharaj

By: Jagmohan Singh Riki

Quotes from the biography of Beautiful Biography of Sant Baba Nand Singh Ji Maharaj

Work: “He also used to take wages a little less and worked a little more.”

“Before, after and on the way to Baba Ji used to recite first hymn (pauri) of Sri Jap Ji Sahib.”

Illusion of the world: “Sometimes Baba Ji used to say- The world is a beautiful garden but one day we have to leave it.”

Sewaks: “Love of the Guru for his sewaks is much more than that of mother for her children.”

Kirpa: “Baba ji used to say always beg for kirpa (mercy), never demand justice from Almighty God.”

What is prayer?: “Baba Ji used to say if somebody is standing on the rood and some one has come to see him, then that person will say “come forward, there are stairs, get on the stairs and come up.” Thus the Guru tells us the right path. Prayer is that stair, which leads us to meet God. If one prays honestly and sincerely and follows the instruction of his Guru, he will become part and parcel of the uttered Guru. Remember prayer (bani) and creator of prayer (Guru) are the same. Prayer is the guide to reach the destination.” “Bani is Guru and Guru is Bani”

Gurmukh Family: “Suppose hundred persons are sleeping and only one man is awaken, then, that person can awake all of them. One becomes Gurmukh, only with the blessing of God. By the grace of Almighty God, one Gurmukh benefits seven paternal families, seven maternal families and seven in laws families. Thus 21 families are blessed by 1 Gurmukh in a family.”

Power of Prayer: “If one wants to become very lucky then one has to recite prayer and do meditation, one may listen or recite but more important is to act accordingly.”

“Even a single word of true and sincere prayer will take one to his Lotus feet. By daily repetition one gathers a great credit in one’s account and Almighty God is sure to bless that person.”

Relationship to God: “Remember, God is always watching you. He is nearer than your own hands and feet.”

“We are like children, not sure of what is right or wrong. We need advice and guidance of a Guru. He always helps whenever we are in doubt. Guru opens up goodness and shows the shortest stairs that leads to God.”

“It is our duty to remember and thank him. We must remember and thank God every moment. Why should we forget Almighty God who has given everything to us?”

“God is great and very merciful. He who loves his Guru, nobody can do any harm in his life time or even after his death.”

Back Biting: “Once Baba Ji said that back biting habit is not only bad but also harmful. It is normally by manmukh persons and are also known as Nindak, Gurmukh persons keeps themselves aloof from it.”

“Go on doing good deeds. Let others feel jealous. Do not leave good deeds. God will help.”

Manmukh: “Manmukh persons do not try to understand the reality of life and suffer, because they are full of egoism. In fact such persons are Nindak or Manmukh or Nastik because they have no fear or love for God and think themselves always correct.”

Ticket to Heaven: “As we require a ticket to catch a train, similarly we want a ticket to enter heaven. We get that ticket by remembering him, reciting his name again and again, singning hymns, by doing good deeds and by serving Saints.”

Reciting Bani: “We must remember Almighty God, and should always be thankful to him as he has given us everything. The greatest sin is to forget Almighty God. Always remember him.”

“We should recite paatt at least 2 and a half hours everyday. If we recite it in the early hours of the morning it is beneficial. If we recite it afterwards it is simple good.”

“If one recites more than 2 and a half hours of bani a day then that is one’s bank balance in the bank of Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji Maharaj.”

“Naam is a ticket. By nitnem (daily prayer) Guru holds the arm. If the arm of the Guru is in one’s hand, then everything is there. One can hold Guru’s arms by daily regular prayer. Those who do not engage in daily prayer float endlessly on the stream of lustful pleasure.”

“In the same way more one prays, the nearer to God one reaches. It is, indeed key to contentment peace and happiness. Naam is the guard against all evils and dangers, it gives strength and substance to the body, mind, brings the soul nearer to Almighty God.”

“Paatt may be recited to or listened to but it should be with due devotion and respect.”

“Similarly if one is desirous to do more paath (prayers) then one has to take a suitable diet and one has to rub a little bit of oil or oil mixed with curd on his body and head. It helps, in meditation.”

Acts of a Gursikh: “One should clean his mind of all unkind thoughts, help a person in distress, work honestly, sincerely, give some of his earnings to the poor and speak the truth.”

“Do good and forget it”

“Man’s conduct is of prime importance for his spiritual success. We must strive to simplify life and live truly.”

“Our duty is to love him, worship Him and do good deeds. Then one gets blessing and reaches his lap.”

“Don’t be proud of anything. Things are God gifted. One should praise good qualities of others and one should see his own faults and defects. One should not boast of himself.”

Dust of a saint: “Only fortunate or lucky persons get the dust of the feet of a true saint. If one rubs on his forehead the very lines of his hand are changed and luck transverses.”

“Thus the dust of the feet of a saint is very, very beneficial. It removes egoism and brings good luck. Only fortunate persons get it.”

“A saint need no touch a person, but his wishes and presence becomes a healing force for that person who happens to be in his energy field. “

Anger: “Anger is one of the greatest enemies. Keep yourself cool and think properly. One comes nearer to God by speaking polite and kind words. Try to bear, be humble and tolerate things, God is great and God knows everything.”

Thank the Lord: “One should always be humble, kind, give away false egoism. If something is achieved or if one has become an important person then say, “Oh God it is by your Grace it has been done. It is your kindness that I am enjoying happiness. It is by your kindness that I am getting all things. We should thank God every moment.”

Sins: “If we pray from our heart on the holy feet of the Satguru in all our humility then he pardons, all our previous account of sins held by Dharmraj and thus all sins are wiped off. The heart stands purified and illuminated with the grace of Satguru and totally fresh new holy pire chapter of life begins thereafter.”

“Do not do what you would undo if caught.”

“By meditation all sinful mistakes and faults are erased and he keeps the honour of his humble devotee.”

Pain: “Pain, pleasure, dare not touch such a Gurmukh whose Atam (soul) ever is blooming with illumination.”

The Human Body: “The body is merely the temple of Almighty God in which we live and in which God also dwells. It is not important that we should go to jungles or anywhere else for our meditation. We can even do meditation at home.”

Sukhmani Sahib Bani: “Paath of Sri Sri Sukhmani Sahib is more beneficial if we add ‘Sukhmani Sukh Amrit Prabh Naam, Bhagat Jana Kai Man Bisraam’, before each salok and add ‘Satnam Sri Waheguru Ji’ before each astpadi.”

True Sikh: “Only a true lover can have his glimpse, if you want to learn, follow the instructions of your Guru.”

“Do not try to be over-clever, over-smart. He is antaryami (omniscient). He knows your nerves.”

“Try to behave like a student who is desirous to know; wants to learn and not to act as teacher or Guru.”

“Things can be put only in empty vessel and not in a vessel if it is already full.”

Japji Sahib: “The paath of Sri Jap Ji Sahib is very important and beneficial particularly in the morning hours. Take a bath at midnight and then recite the paath of Sri Jap Ji Sahib, one would get mukti (salvation) soul liberation.”

Kirtan: “Baba Ji desired that a kirtaniya should complete a paath of Sri Jap Ji Sahib and one mala of first pauri before he should start kirtan in the morning. Do kirtan with complete devotion.”

Satsang: “Meditation and satsang create a heavenly atmosphere while living in this world. While attending satsang we often get chances of the glimpses of holy and pious persons and if lucky enough then by their blessings rub the dust of their feet on the forehead, thus not only the harsh stairs are covered in a shorter period but one is also saved from the drastic fire of hell.”

“Sangat is the roop (reflection) of Guru”

“Take part in Satsang, Satsang brings nearer to God. Leave aside ego, lust, greed, which keeps one away from God.”

Nirgun and Sirgun: “God is visible (Sirgun) as well as invisible (Nirgun). His invisible power works everywhere, It is better to worship him in visible (Sirgun form).”

“Mool mantar is nirgun but from ‘Jap’ onward it is sirgun. “

Parents: “Serve your parents, everything is at home, spend time in the company of truthful and good persons.”

“Respect elders and especially mother, father and teacher Guru. Teacher Guru is pathfinder and generously shares his knowledge with his disciples. “

“One should not unnecessarily discuss with elders and seniors, try to obey them.”

Singhnia: “If a Sadhu does meditation for 12 years, a married man for 1 year and a married woman for 1 month, all meditations are equal. Ladies are so much blessed.”

Langar: “The act of preparing food for bhog should be done with pure heart and feelings.”

Entering Diwan: “One should say Satnam Waheguru Jee before entering Satguru Jee’s room.”

Forgiveness: “God does not forgive those who outwardly say or who are evil at heart. He forgives those who admit their sins, faults and wrong doings with clean and pure heart.”

Death: “After death the soul remains here for another 10 days. As in the marriage of a girl, gifts given also go with her, similarly, paath or other pun (pious work) done by one’s relatives or friends for him within ten days are credited to that person and go with that soul. So it is beneficial, if one’s friends and relatives help the departed soul. A bad deed can harm at any time, in the same way a good deed may prove very beneficial at any time.”

“Almighty God has given us life, so it is to be led as per his directions.”

“True love is unselfish and expects no return. Shri Guru Nanak Dev jee is sure to bless.”

“God knows everything. Only respect, regard or love is required.”

A woman's prayer

"A woman's prayer: A woman's instinct moves her to preserve and nurture that what she loves and to give herself as the love she is. These innate abilities expand with devotional prayer and thus prayer of a woman may create miracles for herself and others."‪#‎KeepPraying‬ ‪#‎Vaheguru‬ ‪#‎InpsireASister

Khalsa Bikers on Pukaar News....

Pukaar News: http://www.pukaarnews.com/sikh-bikers-ride-into-leicester-on-uk-tour/7109/

Pukaar News write up:

Leicester welcomed the 15-strong motorcycle club, the Khalsa Bikers into the city today, as part of their charity tour across Great Britain, which takes place from Wednesday 17 to Sunday 21 July.

Revving their way to Guru Tegh Bahadar Gurdwara’ on East Park Road, crowds turned out to witness the Sikh motorcyclists as they pull up to their second stop on a five day tour named “Route 13”. This journey will see the Khalsa Bikers ride to 13 cities from London all the way up to Edinburgh, stopping off at Newcastle, Cardiff and Birmingham to name a few.

Khalsa Bikers have raised over £25,000 since their establishment in 2011, of which Leicester’s Sikhs have been proudly contributed to this year. The charities which are being supported on ‘Route 13’ are Khalsa Aid, the Humanitarian relief agency; Pingalwara Trust, an Indian based charity for orphaned or unwanted children; and Everythings13, an educational charity aiming to share Guru’s wisdom with the world.

If the current sunshine and heat is getting a bit too much for you, spare a thought for the leather-clad motorcyclists who still have 4 days of hot biking to undertake.  Leader of the Bikers Ranveer Singh commented upon how the beautiful weather was affecting their ride. “It is hot but when you’re on the road it’s actually quite nice, there’s a nice breeze.”

Leicestershire Sikh Alliance spokesperson Katar Singh said “We are privileged that Leicester has been chosen on their current Route 13 tour, and the way these guys have fused their passion for motorcycling with fund raising is inspiring for all.”

For more information on how to support the Bikers or to sponsor them and help raise even more money, please visit http://www.khalsabikers.org/ or follow them on Twitter @khalsabikers
